Traveling with Apple watch

I'm traveling from the U.S. to the UK and plan to bring my Apple watch. While I'm there I will remove my SIM card from my Verizon iPhone 5s and insert a UK SIM card, probably giff gaff. Does anyone know if I will need to unpair my watch before I switch SIM cards and then re-pair it? Thanks!
