Hello,

I will be travelling with my iPhone (12 Pro max and iPhone 11) to the USA. I purchased a prepaid USA T-Mobile SIM card to use for data etc. while travelling. Based on the instructions, I will be receiving a USA phone number while using the new SIM card. I am wondering, before I leave, with my regular SIM card (Rogers - Canada) in my phone, can I set up a Do Not Disturb message, in case anyone texts me? I would also like to include an automatic response that would include my temporary assigned USA phone number while travelling so people can reach me. Then replace the Sim card with the USA one while travelling. I am not even sure this is possible - not sure what happens after I take out my real SIM card. Would this work?

I hope I'm explaining this okay? Basically, What I would like to do is while away, if anyone texts me, they will receive an automatic reply with my USA phone number they can reach me at.

Thanks!

You could auto forward all calls made to your Canada number on the USA number.
**21*newnumber# .....press call button will auto forward.
To cancel: ##21#

No such thing for text messages though. iMessage senders won't get the received notification as your phone number will be off the grid.

Frankly I’m surprised Rogers doesn’t have a US-roaming plan you could use. I’m assuming they HAVE one but it’s far more expensive than using a T-Mobile SIM? I’m in USA and I’d never even consider using a “local” sim for traveling short of a several-month stay. My wife’s headed to Europe in a few days & I just set her up with a temporary roaming plan through our carrier so her phone will work just like at home while she’s gone.

Thank you I’ll try and see if Rogers has a work around.
Rogers does have a roaming plan but it’s not cheap. I purchased an unlimited 5G USA SIM, saves me a lot of $$.

Thanks!
