Not too bad for a $35 case.

EDIT: Also looks like corner of wood sticks out past the cover a bit. I think them not rounding the wood frame is huge non starter for me. but again, for $35 better than most out there.

They said they will start rounding them going forward

I'm smelling a plant, too. Posting about other book covers makes sense. Posting that thing doesn't.

Got this back from treegloo with some of the questions here:

To answer your questions about the rubber, we use a hard, dense natural rubber that is resistant to wear under heavy use. It can be compressed repeatedly, and return to its original form. The adhesive we use for the rubber is so strong, the only way to remove the rubber would be to destroy it or the frame.

As far as the uneven rubber thickness is concerned: we strive to get an accurate fitment, however, wood expands and contracts differently than aluminum, so each frame may fit differently than the next. To insure they fit properly, we tailor fit each frame to make sure the iPad will be square and centered in the frame. The thickness variance in the rubber is 1/32".

If you are detail-oriented, we recommend going with an accent. The accents grip the iPad around its full perimeter, making for a secure fit. The suede also completely conceals the rubber that lines the entire frame -- not just the corners.

I have included an image of the corners of a suede accent frame from our previous Series 1 frames.

Thanks for the post Glen. Looks like the lining is the way to go if the rubber bumpers is a concern.

I am having a hard time choosing a good color combo for a white iPad. I was definitely thinking natural wood, but am on the fence on everything else. Anyways, thanks for the pics and best of luck to everyone on their quest for the perfect iPad 2 case!

Congrats Glen, it looks superb, enjoy :)

Thanks, it a nice case for the money - not married to it, I'll compare to my portenzo made currently of unobtanium when I get it. People seem to be in search of the one perfect case. I'm not opposed to having several for several diff events. Being red, it will be my "light business case" meaning everyday use. Big contract $$ meetings will be the more conservative, demure black portenzo.

Talked to Treegloo (nice people) today and told them of the concerns here on the corners and glossy finish. They certainly are responsive. Here what they wrote and pics of the changes that will be on every case being shipped as of today. These corners are also less edgy and square.

After I spoke to you, we made a few tweaks today as well. We retooled the rubber corners for a cleaner finish, so your replacement case will have this new design. We even updated all the orders, including the ones that shipped today. Additionally, we have also changed the ebony's finish to be satin over gloss.

Quick pictures as they were being assembled and shipped out.

Wow, well color me surprised! Pad and Quill and Treegloo's customer service just ROCKS! This is making my decision even more difficult. I might be leaning back towards Treegloo. Thanks for the update Glen e!

Treegloo sent me my shipping notification today and after seeing your post i thought i should email them asking about my cases and these "tweaks" and got this response

"Actually, the case in the picture is one of yours (before we stamped the serial number). ;-)

The picture taken was a quick shot from a phone, so it doesn't do the colors any justice. As a comparison for color, that is the Aluminum Falcon, and it is sitting on a brushed aluminum plate.

Both of your cases have the rounded corners (outer edge) and updated rubber styles.

Thank you,

Treegloo Products"

They've got some really good customer service and im excited for my cases!

Banging my head against my desk because I can't decide on whether I'd like to go with Pad and Quill, Portenzo, or Treegloo.

I like Pad and Quill's rounded corners, Portenzo's everything (aside from customer service and shipping dates), and Treegloo's options.

And everyday when I go to Treegloo's site to build a case, I can't decide for the life of me the colors I want. Too many choices! blah!

Someone flip a 3-sided coin for me :p

I'm in the same boat KylePowers. I am waiting for TreeGloo's announcement of their new latches/magnet system. I am hoping it's something like Portenzo's magnagrip. But I don't like that they don't have a speaker cutout like the other two. Also hard to choose on the options.

I kind of like Pad&Quill's pocket option (to store a microfibre), but wish they had a MagnaGrip type option like Portenzo. Choices on colors are limited.

For Portenzo, everything seems perfect, but almost looks like a crapshoot on when you would get yours if you order. Based on Facebook it seems like some people get their order before people that ordered earlier, all depending on what they ordered. Also I read in the FaceBook discussion on how someone didn't get the options they ordered and Darin and co. not responding to inquiries about it. That scares me.

I have a white iPad, so for a while I was leaning toward the 23 1/2 from Portenzo or the unicorn white Treegloo, but worry it will get dirty fast. So I think a black cover, natural wood combo will do. I like some kind of blue or gray inside lining, but the TreeGloo paris paper liner looks cool, but then I worry about the paper tearing if I fold the case over too many times. Read about that happening to someone with an iPad 1 case from them.

Ok I rambled on, but I am hoping to see some pics of white iPads in cases from all three to help me decide. Good luck on the case hunting!

still very happy with the killer red - small hole drilled and I added my company logo from a lapel pin I had:

Little bit confused Glen. Your getting a replacement right? So how come you drilled a hole in your case. Or are you going to keep both? If so that makes sense. Anyway thanks for all the pics. Can't wait to get mine.

Wow. The change from the gloss to the satin finish is a huge improvement! The new corners look fantastic, too. I'm really, really impressed.

When did you order your case? I'm hoping to get my shipping notice soon, I'm glad to hear the corners on mine will be the rounded ones.

not getting a new case - all the changes made here I would want if did not have my case yet, but not worth the back and forth with them. In person, it looks great the way it is for me, I don't have to have the latest and greatest.

A small bit of 0000 steel wool on the frame knocked off all the gloss so it looks just like the improved version does now.

When did you place your original order glen? Just wondering when I can expect my cases.

couple weeks ago - but I also called and had them make it out of what was in their stock as I was not picky about the combo....I did not want a portenzo morrocan situation again...

You said that your iPad fits nicely even with a skin on the back? I didn't order a back skin because I thought it might not fit into the Treegloo. I'm wondering if it will be the same with the new changes they are making to the case.

I ordered mine last Wednesday so I probably still have another week or so I guess.

of course it will - the new corners have nothing to do with the depth of the frame - one of the big thick zaggs may have a problem but not the icarbon - also a film that completely comes up to the edge may present a problem as a frame needs the edge to grab the rubber - the icorbon leaves about 1/16" bare around the frame edge so the rubber grabs fine...
