I've been using this trick for awhile. Use the watch app on the phone to start the update as usual. Once the download starts, turn off Bluetooth. The watch app will ask you turn it back on, but you can hit cancel and the download will proceed. The update file will then be sent to the watch via WiFi, which is much faster than Bluetooth.

I was doing that too, always a good trick to share 😊

Did some searching. It is the phone and you need to turn it totally off in settings. Once i did that, it moved noticeably faster

Whoa I was skeptical about this, but I just tried it. The trick to make it work is to turn off Bluetooth in the settings app and NOT by using control center. Went from 2 hours down to 11 minutes.

THANK YOU OP for sharing this tip!
