Have you guys tried it? It doesnt work with the iTunes store although it worked with some features of Fring

How?

How exactly would one 'trick' their iPhone into thinking it is connected to WiFi?

There is a Cydia app, it's called VoipOver 3G, I use it to talk through Skype on my phone, while on 3G

You beat me to it. I believe it can also trick the App Store and iTunes apps into believing they're connected via wifi too.

That's the thing. It doesn't. I tried to download an app that is 10 MB+ and didn't allow me :(
