With the release of apple's always-on smart battery case, have they essentially ended the discussion about whether trickle charging once you've reached 100% is bad for your battery?

Surely Apple put hundreds of hours of science into this, so can we take this as once and for all confirmation that trickle charging the battery at 100% will not (or should not) damage the battery?

Of course it's sound. Who was genuinely debating this?

not arguing the trickle charge or anything but does it have logic to stop charging when its 100%? can anyone who has the case confirm this?

also if its not true then anyone could always play the cynical game of apple wants you to degrade the battery faster to buy a new phone or pay for overpriced battery replacement.

This is an old argument that needs no confirmation.

Todays batteries are not yesterday's batteries. It doesn't matter if you leave it on charge or don't. It doesn't matter if you pull it off charge before it's fully charged. It doesn't matter if you periodically charge it or run it down all the way and then charge.

None of this matters anymore!

It's not 2008 anymore!
