tried download the firmware

i tried to download the MacBook Pro EFI Firmware Update 2.7 from the apple site but it tells me it doesn't support my laptop. my macbook pro is late 2011, it says clearly it is for early 2011 and late 2011 macbook pros. here's the link about it. unless my laptop has already updated to that but why am i not aware of it? http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1499?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

There is a thread running on this, but my MBP had issues the first time around.

I re-set the PRAM ( hold down CMD + OPTION while the machine boots. Release the keys after the second boot commences) Then try the update again.

Just tried it, didn't work. this message comes up. any idea?

Check your model with Apple...It may not be supported even though it comes up in software update.
