TRIM on 10.10.4 - using built in or 3rd party?

Are you using the built in TRIM or using a 3rd party app to enable TRIM?

I updated to 10.10.4 the other day and heard that TRIM support is not built into the OS. You have to manually enable it via the terminal thou -- Open Terminal, type "sudo trimforce enable" and press return, type "Y", & type "Y" again... done.

My question is, are you using the built in TRIM or are you still using a 3rd party app? If you are using the built in trim, doesn't it disable Kext signing?

I have been suing Trim Enabler for a long time now (https://www.cindori.org/software/) I am not sure if its better to use this great 3rd party app or to use the built in trimforce command. there is nothing really out there about this...

It IS built into the OS now ... by way of enabling it via the Terminal. It's just not on by default (unless it's an Apple SSD). There's no point in using a third-party TRIM app since it's built into the OS now. If you DO use TRIM Enabler, it's going to do the same exact thing that using the Terminal does.

Like \-V-/ said, there really is no longer any point in using TRIM enabler unless you are just scared to type in a Terminal command.

Well... I can understand using the app still. I do enjoy my fair share of shiny GUI buttons and switches.

Excuse me, but all your questions are answered in this forum. Your thread is redundant and unnecessary IMO.
