If I install a SSD into an external USB3 or Thunderbolt enclosure, how can I enable TRIM on the drive?
Currently I have trim enabled on my internal SSD by using Trim Enabler.
I was wondering the same thing...I have a Vertex 4 128GB in a SeaGate Thunderbolt adapter...I enabled TRIM in ML, but it didn't show up when I went to my SSD under Thunderbolt devices in system info.
I run a Vertex 4 as an external boot drive via thunderbolt and I am able to enable trim using trim enabler. You have to reboot after setting it up but it works.
I don't know... I just have never seen anybody say they were able to get TRIM to work on any external. Have you seen a report of it working with the drive you linked?
