tripod ring

    wondering if anyone has made one from scratch if so how and what they used. i am trying to avoid paying $150 for one.

    For which lens?

    You can get cheapo versions from Hong Kong (via Ebay). That might be worth a look.

    Bought one of the cheapo ones from Hong Kong off ebay the other week (less than £20 delivered) and I'm more than happy with it.

    You can get a white knockoff one that's perfect on eBay for $15.

    The one I bought off e-bay was for my 70-200 f/4 L and it's perfect even has black felt on the inside of the ring so it's not a metal to metal connection.

    i'm working on fabricating one myself since that would be so cheap and pretty easy. i'll let y'all know how it goes
