Tritton AX720 5.1 Setup?

Hey guys, I've been searching macrumors and google for some time trying to figure out how to get 5.1 working on my 2010 MBP......I bought the min-toslink(S/PDIF) to regular toslink and audio works, but 5.1 is not setup. I've opened up Audio MIDI setup and its blanked out, its set at Digital out, but still 2 speakers, I tried Encoded Digital but that does nothing. Any help?
