Our grandson is staying with us for a few months. His father sent him a new Moto G Power Phone with a line that was added to his (Father’s) account. Our grandson was to activate the phone. He has an old phone through ATT. I did not watch but somewhere in the process our Grandson copied over contact data from his old phone, as part of the activation process, or before the phone was activated, not sure.
The end result is that when Google fi is started up, there is no option to activate the phone, only an option to transfer a number.
Would transferring data From the old phone, mess up the activation process? There is a new Number shown on this phone, but it also shows his number from the old phone, which maybe part of the transferring contacts from the old phone.
My question is, could/would a hard reset of this phone correct the issue and allow it to activate?
