MBP-10.6.2 ...Mini-10.4.11

I am trying to use the target mode trick to boot mini from MBP (start mini, hold down T, join computers via firewire, boot MBP, press option,...). But when I try to, startup sequence is a grey apple followed by a folder with a question mark begins to flash. I've booted successfully with this configuration, but not sure how to bring it back. Any suggestions?

It's a bit confusing.

Do you want to boot into Mac OS X 10.4 on your Mac Mini (used in TDM as a boot volume) from your MBP, or do you want to boot into Mac OS X 10.6 on your MBP from your Mac Mini?

The first, Mac Mini in Target Disk Mode, can not be accomplished, as Mac OS X 10.4 is too old for the MBP.

That is because one can't install or boot an OS version prior to the one that came with the Mac, so you can't install/boot Mac OS X 10.6.2 on a Mac that came with mac OS X 10.6.3.

And since you are using the MBP, that came with Mac OS X 10.6 as the computer, and the Mac Mini, that has 10.4, as a boot volume, that will not work.

It should work the other way around though.
