Hey guys,

I have searched through the forums and have found a few guides on how to downgrade my Apple TV 3 (2013 model) software from 7.0.1 to 6.2

The message I keep getting through iTunes is the "This device isn't eligible for the requested build" message which is starting to annoy me!

Now, I have edited my hosts file and saved it etc etc yet I still have the same message pop up. I am running Yosemite with the latest version of iTunes 12.0.1 and yes I'm connecting my Apple TV to my computer through micro-USB cable.

My reason for downgrading is that while the Apple TV 3 is in sleep mode, it looses Wi-Fi connectivity which in turn causes my AirPlay icon not to show up on my devices. Now I know I can set it to never sleep, but I don't want it using power for no reason.

If anyone can please point me in the right direction that would be great

There's no downgrade available for the later ATV 3 like you have. Apple isn't signing the firmware for any version except the latest. If you had the early version, you could install 6.1.4.
