Hey all,

not sure if this is the right place to post this but i hava problem. I've copied home movies from vhs to dvd-r and finalized them, but i can't get them to play on my macbook (with a superdrive). when i put the dvd in, it spins it then chills out, spins again, and so on. it never opens a program to play it, nor does it seem to know what to do with the dvd. i eventually just eject it. any thoughts on how to get this to work? it seems that my supermac w/ a superdrive ought to be able to handle this!

thanks in advance!

have you tried...

1. Burning a test dvd-r from iphoto (just create a test dvd-r with some images as a slide show) and seeing if that plays back on the Mac?
2. Playing the suspect dvd-r in a regular stand-alone player?

What burning software are you using? I use UDF-format on my Toast 6.x (eMac G4 1.25 ghz).

What brand of media are you using? Cheap, low quality brands such as Memorex often give playback compatibility problems.
