I've searched and googled this all over, so I apologize if someone has already answered this question. I sold an old MBP a few months ago on eBay. Before selling it I deauthorized it from itunes, removed the original hard drive and installed a brand new WD Blue, did a fresh install of Snow Leopard from a CD, and just left it at that. Once the new HDD was installed I never launched it past the welcome screen to make sure the OS installed correctly, I never signed into it with my Apple ID, nothing.

The other day I signed into iCloud to find a misplaced iPad, and there I see the old MBP on my device list under a new name. I clicked on it and selected "remove device" and got a message that said it will reappear in find my iPhone if I sign on while it's connected to the internet. I then went to my iTunes, clicked on my account -> manage devices and saw that the old computer was not there. Today I sign on to iCloud I see the old MBP is back on find my iPhone and, because it's currently online, I can't remove it. I've checked iTunes -> Account -> Manage Devices just out of curiosity and it's still not listed there. Everything I've read says I need to turn off "find my mac" on the computer, but obviously I don't have access to it to do that. I've also read I can click "Erase Mac" from find my iPhone and that will permanently remove it, but I don't want to delete all of the new users data just to take it off of my account. Is there a way to permanently get rid of this computer from my device list without screwing the new owner?

EDIT: The message when I select "Remove Device" says the computer will reappear in Find My iPhone if it gets online again while Find My Mac is turned on.
