I made the switch recently, and I've been having trouble with video files on Mac OS X. When I click on some links to view videos I get error messages like this one:

"Safari can’t open “mms://a1503.v115042.c11504.g.vm.akamaistream.net/7/1…11504/2004/open/gp/archive04/040304_sjedcu_gp_56.wmv” because Mac OS X doesn’t recognize Internet addresses starting with “mms:”."

The files I am trying to view are located here:
http://mlsnet.com/games/04/tracker.php?gamename=04032004_SJDC&version=multimedia&lang=eng

I have the latest version of Windows Media Player for Mac (I think), and I've tried opening the URL in the player directly.

Is there any way I can fix this problem? Like a patch or something?

Thanks,
Amy

for streaming video you will need 3 apps to play it all. quicktime, windows media player for mac and realplayer

to play all other video use both vlc and mplayer.

here are links to download them:
vlc
http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/14738

mplayer
http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/16623

use those 2 in the way that if one doesn't play a file try the other. they both play so many formats and play them well.
