    Hello,

    I'm a relative Mac newbie but not new to computers in general.

    I installed the Paralells 7.0 trial (really good btw) and now I am trying to delete it because I have no real use for it.

    I deleted the Windows 7 virtual machine from Paralells and now it sits in my Mac's (OSX Lion 10.7.2) Trash and when I try to empty it, it takes forever and I can't see any real progress.

    After forcing a restart I checked the size of the file and it's 11gb. Could that be the problem?

    Any advice on what I could do?

    Thank you very much.

    @ghostbuster:

    11 GB is "nothing" for the HFS+ file system. You can try a safe boot, which disables all third party login items, extensions and so on. Then open Disk Utility and repair the permissions on the startup disk! Try to delete the file now and restart afterwards! Hope this works for you. :)
