Trouble With External Hard Drive

Greetings,

I am having trouble transferring files from my mac (Mac Os X Version 10.7.5) onto a external hard drives (I have tried many so it's not likely the drive).

The Drive is in a FAT format so that it is compatible with both PC and MAC.

I understand that you cannot transfer files over 4GB, it wont let me transfer anything at all, it doesn't even give me the option to drop anything in.

Some help would be greatly appreciated, I'm totally stumped.

Try reformatting the drive again into FAT. Had same issue before on my WD drive and doing that fixed it.
