trouble with facebook app on O2 EDGE

Hi,

I'm having trouble connecting to update the facebook app on my jailbroken and unlocked 2G iPhone on EDGE. It works fine on WiFi and it can upload photos via EDGE, but i don't seem to get anything back the other way. I'm wondering if i can change any permissions or anything

anyone had any similar problems or have any advice
