Trouble with 'locked' file - or 'Read only' files

It seems to me that since going to Lion - so many of my files need to be unlocked, or are listed a read only ( where they weren't before ).

How can I fix this so I can access all my files again?

Right-click on a file or folder and "Get Info". Then unlock it or change the permissions in the Get Info window.
