I am having problems logging and capturing a MiniDV Tape to my iMac. The source reader is a JVC Professional Series DV-600 reader. I can control the reader through Final Cut Pro 6.0.1 but as soon as I try to log a clip, I get an error saying that the tape my be bad. I tried logging other tapes, using my Canon XL2 at the reader, two different fire wire cables and logging directly to the iMac Hard Drive in stead of my external hard drives. I have also disconnected the hard drives to eliminate that issue. I am wondering if I am missing a setting on the Final Cut Program that is causing this problem. Has anyone else encountered this error?

Thanks

Joe

Not encountered that error myself, but just going for an obvious potential cause, is FCP defaulting to DV-PAL as its project setting rather than DV-NTSC?
