Hello! Thanks for being here to help. At this moment I'm going not a little bit mad.

I have a spanking new (three month old) iMac with all systems up to date. I've used Safari for many years, but have decided to try living in the MicroSoft environment to try it out - primarily because of my use of OneNote, Word, and OneDrive.

Today I'm setting up Outlook. Apple requires an app-specific password for that. I'd used one in 2013, which still showed in the system. But there's no way to actually see it, as you would a normal password (brilliant), and it doesn't fill in automatically. No way to retrieve it.

So I deleted that a-s password and generated a new one.

In Outlook, my iCloud calendar showed up as offline. I clicked the little jagged "offline" icon; clicked "go online"; and the app-specific password popup came up again. I entered the app-specific pw and clicked Sign In. The popup disappeared. To all appearances my account should have been set up.

But the jagged little "offline" icon is still next to my iCloud calendar.

I've repeated the process four times. It will not. go. online. CRAP.

What's my next step??
