I'm having troubles playing movies in QuickTime. Usually, when I fullscreen a movie the menubar and the dock disappear out of view. Now though, only the menubar disappears and the dock stays on top of the movie and it gets so annoying.

I restarted my computer and reinstalled QuickTime and that didn't work. Also, I tried viewing the movie in VLC and it had the same problem which leads me to believe there is some problem with OS X or the dock.

Any solutions that you guys know of?

same problem here! I don't think it was like that a few days ago for me when I was watching my show, but suddenly today when I put on my show on full screen, the dock's still on and I can't see the subtitles, which I need since my show's in Japanese... There's nothing about this in the Dock's Preferences, nor the VLC or Quicktime Preferences either... so what can I do?

Try hiding the Dock in System Preferences, and play the movie. Then, try putting the Dock how you had it and try it again.
