Looking for a true edge-to-edge 12 Pro Max screen protector (without a notch cutout). I mean one that covers entirely from corner to corner. The one I was using from BodyGuardz says it is but it isn't. There was still some exposed areas before meeting the edge.

I'm about to order one of these... Does the black border cover any part of the screen? I heard some do, even if it's a few pixels it's a dealbreaker for me.
I had a screen protector with the black border that was allegedly full screen. It didn't cover the screen pixels at all and I'm surprised any would honestly. They shouldn't.

I'm also skeptical at this point that any screen protector truly goes edge to edge and leaves no mm of bezel uncovered. I could be dead wrong on that front. But I have yet to see one that truly does that.

By the looks of it,it seems like it doesnt. But i just dont get why must Spigen include black border. Why cant they make it all clear like the EZFIT.

Black border is there to hide the halo along the edges.. especially for previous gen iPhones with 2.5D front glass screen.
Normal flat screen protectors either had to be slightly smaller in size leaving a noticeable gap along the edges or include black borders to hide the halo underneath... which is a probably better of the two options.

So, what are the cons of having a full edge-to-edge screen protector? I've always only had the notch cut-out ones but high quality glass protectors with no haloing or rainbowing.

Also, how closely does the black borders match the black on the OLED screen?

My current Spigen EZFIT goes all the way to the edge(over the black sides)of my 12 Pro Max and i see no halo/rainbow effect.

Yes, edge-to-edge screen protectors work well on iPhone 12 because it has a flat front screen and not 2.5D, whereas, iPhone 6 to 11 had 2.5D screens, so edge-to-edge screen protectors produced halo along the edges.

I think I'm giving up on tempered glass screen protectors. I had Bodyguardz send me one to replace my original synthetic glass (PRTX) protector because that one was prone to micro scratches. (Both the original I purchased and the replacement they sent me.) The tempered glass they sent me had a bunch of dust on the adhesive side each time I attempted to apply it to my iPhone. So that wasn't going to work as it shows up clearly in white backgrounds. I did my best to remove the dust from the SP but nothing truly worked. Then I purchased another TG SP from Amazon and it had the same issues. Such a PITA. At least the original synthetic glass ones I used did not have this issue with dust on the adhesive side during initial application.

Give Spigen a try. They come in 2s and have an installation tray included. Im very bad at putting tempered glass but with Spigen all i needed was 1 try. Its really hard to fail.

Not really about failing. Just tired of receiving SP’s with dust on the adhesive side each time.

Okay i not saying Spigen is the best but they come in 2s… i doubt both of them will come with dust.
I had more luck with the second TP SP from Amazon in the pack. I just quickly applied it to my iPhone after removing it from the plastic. Gave less time for dust to accumulate. That seemed to help a lot.

Gadgetshieldz screen protector goes edge to edge. Their screen protector perfectly suits your description, it does go from corner to corner. since there's no exposed corners, gosh safe from all those dust that creeps through the edge. If you're interested take a look.

It looks like it's just plastic film though, no thanks

The Latercase screen protector that i got covers most of the screen, more so than the Spigen. But no alignment tray is provided so there's no room for error. Maybe try installing it with a case on like the spigen liquid air, using as an alignment tool.

OK so my Spigen full edge to edge screen protector came in and.... wow. I should've used an edge to edge screen protector from the beginning since the X came out. I don't know why I avoided them? Hmm. I can't really tell there's a screen protector on so the content and viewing the screen is much more immersive and as close as you can get to a naked screen.

With a notched screen protector without black borders I noticed that I always would notice and look at the edges of the screen protector sometimes. This time, the inky OLED blacks match the borders and notch and it looks much more seamless.

Thanks for this thread!!

Glad you’re satisfied. The majority of Spigen products have tremendous value for the money, IMO. 😉

Thanks! Yeah, I used to use Spigen until I tried Zagg. I’m a Zagg or Belkin fanboy with the notched cut out protectors but I can’t tell a difference in quality with these. Pretty damn nice!

Welp, I spoke too soon lol

I’m having a few issues after a few days of use:

The ambient light sensor is not acting normal. In some situations when I need light, it dims significantly compared to with a notched screen protector. I’m also noticing True Tone is having a harder time adjusting the white balance correctly in the usual places I use my phone at.

Im also noticing touch is affected as well. I’m making far more mistakes typing and not even autocorrect can catch them from the typos being too bad.

I’m also noticing light touches (like light swipes, taps, dragging, etc) aren’t registering with 100% accuracy. I have to tap harder than a light graze.

Unfortunately I am seconding the issues with the spigen. I just installed one and after a few days I still have what look like bubbles under the screen. BUT....they are air bubbles as pushing on the screen doesn't have any effect on them. It looks like maybe the adhesive was defective or something but I have a lot of missed touches and issues. I have a flolab on the way now, sorry spigen but after 2 defective ones I'm done with you.
