I bought Rob a 512MB stick of RAM for his laptop as a X-Mas gift (well one of them). I looked into his laptop yesterday and he only had 192MB and he's been bitching about performance.

I can just see him opening the Crucial box and going, um....what's this?

Anyone getting odd presents for someone?

I'm giving my mother my services, gratis, as a gardener for the first half of January. She knows I hate doing it (you dig around in shrubs and grass in Australia in the summer and tell me you enjoy it...spiders and snakes and scorpions!! Oh My!!) but she'll appreciate it way more than anything I could buy her.

I'm thinking about taking a family portrait for my sister. brother in law and their three kids, but I didn't know if that was just too chincy...blah. I have no idea what to get them.

Well I got this from my mate yesterday:

Going with my Southwest Airlines fixation of the last couple days, I picked up $100 worth of Southwest Gift Cards for my family :D

That's pretty creepy Bartleby. Is that one of those "Jackalopes" that abound in American legends or is it just a f***ed up goat?

It's cool, but I wouldn't want it in, say, my bedroom or anywhere I'd be trying to relax.

It's a goat.
He was listening to The Melvins song "The Night Goat" when he started the painting.

It's in the living room, I'll get a better frame for it after Christmas:

An ex-girlfriend of mine knitted me a "Doctor Who" scarf. It's about 6 feet long and all sorts of colours. Very cool.

is that odd?

My brothers getting a Mac mini for christmas. He's ganna be shocked it's an actual computer because it's so small. I can't wait :D

got my wife a mini dv cam so she can film our son. we had a sony cam for years but would more often than not leave it at home cause it was too big to carry. this one is about the size of a baseball. Ive already given it to her so she can record the days up to the holiday as well as our sons b'day 10 days before x-mas. I on the other hand am getting pants...

How about receiving? It was mentioned in Applespider's Christmas snooping thread, but my boyfriend gave me OEM car parts, and I paid for part of his new shortshifter. :D But I don't think it's that odd.

Let's see...

I got my friend some spinners (they don't fit on her car.. when we go to install them, I find she has premium wheels.. that means NO HUBCAPS!)

I got my nephew 20 bags of balloons. (he likes balloons.)

A chick flick for my brother.

and a make-your-own Dog treat kit for a friend.

hmmm.. my gifts are more sensical than they have been in the past. I'm losin' my touch!

I have to say, for once I wasn't dorky this year. I've been known to buy DVD players and such for people, but this year I made not one gadget purchase for anybody.
