Well I got this from my mate yesterday:

Am I the only one who finds that suggestive?

On topic I got my wife an optical mouse for our anniversary.

Back into the gutter, because of me my 18 year son blushes when he sees raisin cookies.

I got my brother's wife a multi button optical mouse so she could better play World of Warcraft for her birthday this year. Is that Geeky?

Oh and she loved it!

This Christmas I am being the electronics supplier for my family. My brother is getting a WOW gaming card, my mom is getting a tape adapter and car power adapter so she can use a portable CD player to play CDs in her car because the built in player is dying, my dad is getting some recipe software and my family is getting a microphone for the computer so that they can audio chat with me while I am in Denmark next semester.

So rather geeky Christmas.

I got my husband an external dual layer dvd drive and some computer peripherals this year. (as well as "The Years Best Science Fiction" edited by Dozier and the special edition of "This is Spinal Tap)

I'm giving my mother my 11 month old iMac for the price she was going pay for a new Dell. I could have sold it for more on eBay, but I wasn't really planning to upgrade for a while. I saw it as a win-win proposition.

Now I won't have to worry about cleaning up the spyware that brings her current machine to a crawl every time I go home to visit and the occasional frantic call due to oddball issues. And it gave me a good excuse to upgrade from my old 17" iMac to a new iSight 20" at a 'discounted' price!

Now my entire family will be windows-free!!!

(Some may consider this a presnt for me too - I can't really argue with those people).

I'm giving my parents a Sirius satellite radio for Chanukah this year. They're going to open it and be like "WTF is this?" at first, and once I explain to them that they'll never have their oldies interrupted by commercials, xmas music, or football games ever again, they'll be happy.

I'm getting my wife ballroom dancing lessons. I think the real gift is that I'll be going with her.

Yeah, my wife wants to do that, too. Damn that stupid TV show and that comically suave J Peterman actor (whose name escapes me at the moment).

Actually, she's been hinting for the entire 14 years of our marriage. I suppose at some point I've gotta do it. Ugh.

Raisin cookies are round and smooth, slightly puffed out with a vertical slit revealing the raisin center. It bears a resemblance to the female genitalia and if it were triangular instead of round would be positively obscene.
That would then be called a "Hamentaschen". And yes they are very tasty and made with a prune filling. Any good Jew would know this.

Are raisin cookies something different than oatmeal raisin cookies? And why am I continuing this conversation?

I'm trying to give people the gift of (iTunes) music this year and in the process score myself a couple of freebees with that PayPay dealie they have but I keep getting the runaround and they won't let me buy anything. I'm using my mother's PayPal account but they tell me it's not jiving. So I may be forced to go about it the old school way and not benefit from my charitable nature

Ohh, and that Ram pic is kinda cool in a bizarro way.

It's a goat...:)

I got my sister a mouse. I'm not sure if I should have her open it before or after she opens her new iBook....:D

Yea, well, that would be a hint, all right... 14 years...

Actually, it's been about that long since we've been out dancing -- we competed (briefly) at the novice level and got a second place, got on local TV, etc. back in the day.

One of my workmates just succeeded in getting his partner immigration papers from the Philippines to Canada, took 3 years, (and much much paid to FederalExpress to send documents around the world). His partner is a ballroom dance teacher (and runner up in the "Philippean Idol" contest) and is setting up a teaching studio here so we'll be taking up some dancing again.

SO, like, all y'all come to Victoria and we'll go out dancing :D
