Thanks for all the responses. Looks like aside from the Airpods very few (if any) can say they tried something else which actually works well with playing music with the Apple Watch (without the phone with you). I bit the bullet and just got them. As everyone says they do in fact work flawlessly. I was also impressed with the sound quality (since I had mixed reviews on it) and the fact that even wearing a knit hat over my ears I could still use the double tap feature with ease (and the call quality was perfect). They don't even look half bad when most of them are covered with a hat! On the flip side how the heck could there be no volume function on the Airpods aside from having to use one of the two options for Siri?! Also without the hat on they do feel as though they could come out easily - granted they did not so I am hoping this is just a feeling that will go away in time. If it persists are there any good options to help keep them in or just feel more secure?

I recommend a case, to keep scratches to minimum, this is a good one and you also get a band thing that fits in each end of the earpod so if they fall out you won’t lose them...

Glad you tried them and like them.

The thing that helps is controlling the volume with your watch. Very convenient.

A case to protect the case???
Yes, sounds silly I suppose but it works great, the AirPods case is a major part of them, if I ever come to sell them on I’d like it all looking like new and not scratched up from drops etc to get a good return back.

Also I don’t like scratches on my stuff, so for a few £ i know I won’t damage my case if I drop it etc.
