call me paranoid, but I ain't giving the serial # of my brand new computer to some random website.

A serial number contains no personal data whatsoever so it's harmless.
It just holds specs info and build info.

The serialnumber IS linked to personal information but only when a site like this is connected and interacting with Apple's database that holds the info and... only Apple can do that, not this site :)
