i can buy an imac tray loading (333MHz) for £15 but it's analog video board dosent work and i was wondering if i can use it just with the vga out, or just use it romotely

On a tray load, yes since the power supply and the analog board are 2 seperate boards in it. You just take off the bottom case and disconnect the internal VGA cable and plug an external VGA monitor into it. As long as there isn't anything else wrong with it it should work fine.
