Hello guys

I bought a LG 22MD4KA monitor and it works well with MacBook Pro except the ALS. The quality of the monitor is stunning so that I want also use it to play some game, however, only the speakers works and the system can't detect any external display while I connect it to my MSI laptop (GP62 MVR 7RF 433CN) by the c to c (not Thunderbolt) cable include in the monitor package. Is there anyone have the same problem? Is this problem cause by the cable or the ports in the windows? I plan to purchase a hdmi to usb c cable but I don't know if it's going to work or not. Any advice?

Thank you!

HDMI to USB-C will definitely not work:

The LG UltraFine supports DisplayPort (DP) over USB-C. The USB-C to HDMI adapters are not bidirectional (they are USB-C to HDMI, not HDMI to USB-C).
The only known workaround that works 100% is detailed in this post: essentially you need to be using a Windows computer with a mini-DisplayPort or regular DisplayPort (but will need an adapter to mini-DP).

but will need an adapter to mini-DP
Ohh this is just too good thx! I got both hdmi and mini dp in my laptop, does this adapter has some cables with it or I must purchase mini dp cable separately? Also does it support 1080p/2K/4K 60Hz?

It comes with a mini DP cable, a USB-C to USB-C cable and a USB-A to Micro-B cable to plug in your computer so that the screen control devices and the speaker can be recognized by the computer.
