Trying to add external subs via streaming

Well ive been streaming movies from my pc to my ipad using airplay and i cannot seem to find out how to add external subs. if they are encoded in the file they might show up but if i download an .srt file i am not able to utilize it. Any other streamers/players that i can use to stream movies and add subs?

AirVideo plays srt files as long as its named the same as the video file.
