trying to connect macbook pro 2010 to Mac G5 cinema display monitor

Hi there,

First time post here. Im not sure if this is the correct place to post this on the forum but here I go anyway.

I just recently received from a friend a Mac PowerPc G5 including the cinema display from the time. ( not sure on the modle number) I cannot do very much with the tower but I really could use a duel monitor set up. I currently have a Macbook Pro (2009) with a display port. what is the connection required to connect the two? Is this even possible?

Is the display one of the clear acrylic ones or the aluminum ones?

if as you say, it is the the "cinema display from the time".
It is very likely you will need this adapter.
