It keeps saying I don't have enough free space... but I clearly do...??:confused:

I use Carbon Copy Cloner for this type of thing. Works better and lets you know if it will be bootable before you start.

Is that freeware? I'm not really trying to purchase some more software to do this.

I guess if I have to I can use a DVD... just slightly irritating that this won't work.
 
There's a guide at OSXDAILY for exactly this. I used a fresh 8gb sandisk thumb drive just to be safe. It worked flawlessly and the only software you need is Disk Utility (already on your Mac)

Edit: didn't see the pic..clearly, you're aware of the method. However, as stated above, you need an 8gb drive.
 
Yup, Looks like it needs 4.18 GB.

Guess it is a dvd for now. I still need my 8GB usb for Snow Leopard.
