I installed the required software on the USB, everything went fine, then I tried rebooting...

What I found out was that neither my bluetooth Apple Mouse or Apple Keyboard were recognized. I had a flashing picture of the mouse telling me to turn it on (it was on) and a flashing picture of the keyboard telling me to turn it on (it was also on)

I really do not want to go buy a USB keyboard just for this.

Did you go through the process to re-pair the two devices? When you do a fresh install it wipes that out and you have to re-pair it via the bluetooth settings. Maybe you did this already not sure. Please let me know if it worked. Follow the attached Apple link at the bottom for detailed instructions.

I never got to do a fresh install, I never booted into the USB fully to do that because the mouse and keyboard were not detected. I couldn't do anything.
