Trying to fax a multi-page document using "Preview", Print, Send PDF Fax. in OS 10.5.8 but don't know how to change or adjust proper network settings for my G4 to recognize that I want to use the internal modem. My network settings are set for DSL Ethernet right now. I need to change the settings so I can fax a document. I have connected a standard phone line to the computer, what needs to be done to activate this phone line to send a fax?

Trying to Fax with Internal Modem

First go to system preferences>network and make sure the internal modem is active. Then go to system preferences print & fax. Click the + button to add new device. In the new window choose the fax tab. Select your internal modem from the list and click add. You should now see the internal modem in the list of available printers. Select it and you will see the set up choices. You should be good from there.
