trying to install adobe flash player and it says..

i'm new to macs and i'm trying to install adobe flash player and it says that i need to close the Dashboard Client to continue. how do i do this?

Open a Terminal window (/Applications/Terminal.app) and type:

sudo killall DashboardClient

Alternatively, you can just restart your computer. DashboardClient doesn't launch until you activate Dashboard for the first time.

Hey BlueRevolution,

Thanks for the tip about not opening Dashboard before you install it. It's been fully installed on my machine now.

And I'm thankful for the MacRumors forums - nobody on the Adobe official bug site could care less! Someone has been waiting since October for a fix to this problem!

Applications > Utilities > Terminal.

If you don't know where stuff is, open the finder, and type in the name of what you're looking for.
