trying to install windows 10 on 2011 Imac with bootcamp

Trying to install using boot camp but I'm using an image file not a DVD. The bootcamp program can't see the file it looks for the install disk

what can I do

Hmm. looks like the answer involves burning a windows 10 iso to a dvd.
The updated bootcamp software that doesn't require a dvd doesn't work on your machine...

Thanks I didn't know that. I'll have to wait till I get a dual layer DVD blank. Don't have any right now to burn the DVD.

I have always just put the downloaded Windows .iso file on my desktop and the installer seemed to fine it OK. Yours may be in the "download" folder and can simply be moved over to the desktop.

Have a read of this and you do need to be running El Capitan. Always helps to provide Mac model and operating system.

I'm running High Siera on a 2011 Imac with 10 gig ram. I have tried the install with the ISO file on the desktop. Bootcamp can't find it
