Is Pangu8 version 1.0.0 on Mac too old to run anymore? Found a sweet iPad Air 2 today on iOS 8.1 and tried to JB it but Pangu doesn't see the iPad. Tried all the tricks, restarts, Airplane mode on and off, no Find iPhone, trust computer. etc. using iTunes 12.5.4
thanks.

Thanks, I tried that too, but Taig won't open. says may not work with your version of OS, I'm on El Capitan..

You need to use appropriate TaiG version to your iOS version for it to work. Here you have all TaiG versions:
https://www.theiphonewiki.com/wiki/TaiG
One of them should work. Try every version and you will find one that works with your iOS version.
I recently have jailbroken iPad Mini 1 on iOS 8.0.2. It took me some time to find the correct version of TaiG that worked. It simply translates to this:
If you are on one of lower iOS 8 versions you need to use lower version of TaiG.
If you are on higher version of iOS 8 you need higher version of TaiG.
But it looks like Pangu 8 no longer works. Even if you get everything correct (the correct version of iTunes, etc.) instead of "Jailbreak" button there shows gray area with blue button "Download Now" and redirects us to Pangu site.
TaiG works better on Windows.

Thanks, I'm on a Mac, only 2 versions, tried the 2nd one, it does the same thing. Says a problem opening file. after I move it to Applications. Are you on a Mac?
Would it work on Win 7 you think? I have an unused Win7 PC at work I could maybe try.

Why are you moving it to the Applications folder?

Just run it from the desktop. Not like you're going to use it as a regular app after you're done jailbreaking.

When the Mac opens the downloaded dmg file it automatically moves it to the App folder when it installs it. It will not open directly, The developer of this is probably not a Mac user.
