I am not sure if I can use apple script or if there is another way? i am on a forum that others have written scripts in linux to alert them when someone posts a new thread in a an area of the forum, or if someone replies to their thread and I would like to do this also. I do have a pc, but prefer my mac!! Is there anyone who can point me in the right direction? I am really starting from scratch-although I am a quick learner and can usually figure things out with some direction. Your help is appreciated!!

Why not just use an RSS reader on your desktop?

I would like to get sound notification of new threads

I have a copy of the linux script and one written for windows, and it allows sound notification when a new thread is created. I believe one of them might even cause a reply. Any ideas anyone?
