I have set up an album on my iPhone called Family. In it I want to copy photos of my family from my Camera Roll in it, and I want these to always be available.

But I'm confused about if when I sync to iPhoto when I plug my phone into my Mac, if at the end where it asks me to delete the photos on my iPhone Camera Roll, if it will also delete the copy of the image in my Family album. Will it?

Relatedly, I created a test album and copied a Camera Roll photo into it. Then I went to Camera Roll to delete the photo, hoping to still have keep it in my new album, but it said it would also remove it from any albums it is in.

Overall, I'm just trying to figure out how to keep photos in my non-camera roll albums and not lose them when they are deleted from Camera Roll.

Download them to your computer then sync them back. Then they will no longer be part of the "camera roll"

    ----------

To be more specific, create the album on your computer, add the pictures there, then sync the album back,
