That's what I get when I click on the "Untitled" disc icon on the desktop. Some of the items will launch Terminal when I click on them, and other items will trigger a popup that says there's no application to open the disc. I think maybe I'm missing some software to read the disc. The images I'm trying to view are MRI x-ray images of my left small finger that was broken last year. The DVD was given to me by the x-ray people.

You will need to download a DICOM viewer for your Mac.

Or, you can also insert your DVD into a Windows PC -- The DICOM viewer on the disk will be Windows-only.
The viewer on the DVD won't run on your Mac - but the image file should be there.
The file(s) that actually is your MRI image is probably in that folder named "S0000001"

Delta Mac has the answer, I believe -- the app named "DICOM" which is free.

Or, you could try this (no promises, ok?)

Open the folder S000001 (or whatever that is).

There may be some image files inside.

If they will not open with Preview, I suggest you download the app named "Graphic Converter", which I think can be used "for free" for at least a limited time.

RIGHT CLICK (or control-click) on one of the files, and you should get a contextual menu with "Open With..." being one of the choices.

Choose Graphic Converter as the app with which you want to open the files.

Will this open them?

If so, you can "convert" or "Save As..." to jpeg format, then Preview will open them.

Before I got the DICOM app, I recalled that this also worked for me, years ago.

Yeah, I had to jump through a few hoops to open something similar for medical imaging. You could try opening the folder and see if you can see a list of .jpg or other images.
