The prices I have seen for used Apple watches is rather depressing. More depressing for someone selling is the shear number of watches that are for sale. Pages and pages of them on Craig's List.

Not. Just reporting the truth, even if it is not in Apple's favor.

The resale number are disappointing.
And I am just teasing you. I think I saw that you posted the same comment somewhere else so I couldn't resist.

I'm not surprised there are many to buy on CL. It's a love hate first gen product. I love it because it has been the best first gen product I have owned. But I know others have had problems while I haven't had any of the same problems.

The truth happens to be that they sold more AW units in the first 6 months compared to the original iPhone and iPad at debut, and they captured 75% of the smartwatch market in launch quarter. Real disappointing!

I've gotten 3 Stainless mint 42mm's in SS or SB consistently at $310 or less via CowBoom (when it was around still) or Swappa so the prices/demand is dropping as far as I see. Base model SS and SB priced at $375ish with just a sport band are sitting there without much interest, I priced my mint SB with BSB at $355 shipped/insured I believe and it sold fairly quickly. My shipping charge was around $12 and Swappa takes $10 so in pocket was $333. Seems that price point is good so if you had an offer for $380 I would have taken it.

I've been trying to sell my 42mm SS SB with BSB. It was replaced by Apple 2 days ago. I have tried Craigslist and eBay with no success. I have a lot of low ball offers ($300). The most I have been offered is $375. At this point, I'm wondering if I should just keep it.

It does have Applecare, but if I sell it cheap, I'm not including it.

Any advise would be appreciated.
Did you ever sell it? I'd like a Space Black. Also where are you? I spend time in Watertown, NY frequently.

Well yeah, they are. But we (mostly) all knew that would be the case. At least anyone who didn't think of the Watch as a mini iPhone, which also doesn't have the greatest resale value unless you really dig for a high bidder. A mass produced smart watch is a tool that is worn, used and banged around on a daily basis. Not much of a second market for those unless they are true collector's items. Does that mean that we overpaid? I'd say not, IMHO. Personally, I have gotten all the use out of my watch that I expected and it continues to chug along. Then again, I never had any illusions that I would recoup a significant portion of the purchase price at some point. Maybe I was in the minority thinking that -shrug-.

I never expected it to be an investment and am not unhappy, simply pointing out the low prices I see on Craig's List even for new sealed in box units. I still have and occasionally wear my 42 SS with storm grey loop.
