Not to sound like a total wordsmith, but this article reads terribly.

"Over the past six months, Santiago-Serrano told authorities..."

He's been telling them for 6 months?😱

Some people want to travel light. What if I want to walk on the airplane without carrying anything at all?
I reckon anybody who thinks it's a PITA to carry an ipad onto a plane is lazy. It's a tablet not a laptop.

What if all my entertainment is on my cell phone? And iPad is to be used at my destination for whatever.

This is clutching at straws! Why would anybody choose to use their smartphone over an ipad for entertainment on an airplane? This makes no sense whatsoever!!!

People have the right to do whatever they want with the gear they own. Doesn't mean that it gives TSA screeners the right to treat our bags as a free buffet.

Yeah, you're right, but the problem is that a few TSA screeners are treating your stuff like a tech buffet.

Friend's friend is a pilot, flies NYC - Moscow route for Aeroflot airlines. Took few ipads with him, as his own luggage, which was allowed on flight deck as his personal item. When arrived to Moscow, ipads were gone. Boxes were there, but ipads were missing.

So, either TSA (who had bag in their possession for some time), or someone on the flight deck decided to relieve the captain of his ipads. And this was recent too.
