It was fine... In London this week and also fine.

Regarding the dress shoes, I was headed to and from the office each time through the airport and didn't want to change cloths.

Glad all went well. I take it this means you didn't have to remove your Apple Watch then?

Surely, you have more than one pair of shoes (the pair that's giving you trouble)... :)

Right, I didn't have to take it off in any of my recent trips, which has been great.

I only have two pair of dress shoes, both Bostonians. Ironically, they both trigger the metal detector in TSA PreCheck in Boston's airport (Delta), but no other airport I've ever been in. I was working in Boston for two years so going through their all the time. I don't work there any longer, so its no longer a problem. This probably has something to do with me being a NY Yankees fan (Boston Red Sox being rivals and all).

Sorry this is OT but may be useful to some:

If you ever have to enter a US Embassy or Consulate as a visitor, you will not be able to take your Apple Watch past the security screening area, as they consider it an unallowable electronic device.. The guards will lock it up for you (together with your phone and whatever other electronics) and then you retrieve it when you return.

I bought this to store my Apple Watch in, for all types of travel-related needs including safe stowage of my Apple Watch through airport security. I put my watch in it and store the case in my backpack...I do this while in line to go through security.

It also makes a great travel charger for both Watch and iPhone.

I've never had to remove any watch while going through security at the airport. However, when I flew in June I had my stainless steel Apple Watch band in my backpack while wearing my Sport band. TSA opened my backpack to look at something they saw on X-ray; turned out it was the steel band because it looked like it may have been something sharp. Last time I flew I wore the steel band and packed the Sport band and had no issues.

I know there are a few threads asking about the boarding pass function of the Apple Watch and TSA, but I am wanting to get a poll on leaving the watch on to go through the PreCheck metal detectors.

I like to sail through TSA quickly so I preload all my belongings into my carry on before even going into security, and have only my phone and ID left in my hand. As soon as they are scanned at the PreCheck checkpoint, I put them in a pouch on my backpack and I'm good to go. I fly a lot, and only one airport has been a problem with this approach, Boston's Delta terminal ... their metal detectors go off with my Bostonian dress shoes so I have to argue with them that I need to take them off, when they are confidently demanding that I leave them on. Went through that experience over 100 times in the last couple of years and was quite frustrating. Every other airport I've been to my shoes were not a problem. But I digress.

I just got a Stainless Steel Apple Watch and would love to leave it on to go through security. Taking it off always makes me nervous about a drop to the floor. I'd rather not go through with it on and have the metal detector go off, and end up putting it in the bucket. It takes a lot of time and slows down the process for everyone, and I also don't want the watch to disappear while TSA is being slow letting me through. So, I pack it away.

So has anyone worn their SS AW through the TSA Precheck scanners regularly? Any problems?

Thanks.
