No no no, they're getting it all wrong! The iPhone 7 is the worst phone evar!!! and NOBODY is going to buy it - Tim Cook sold all his Apple stock ahead of the launch because he knew the iPhone 7 would tank and nobody would buy it and Apple is Dooomed! - dozens of MacRumors forum members confirmed it! Repeatedly! (You could tell it was true by how many times they said it!) It's missing the headphone jack and is thus unusable, and that's the ONLY difference between a 7 and a 6s and a 6.

Now everybody STOP BUYING THIS PHONE - you're ruining everything!

Looks like removing the headphone jack worked out after all?

Even if the Note7 was still on sale, I think most people have gotten over the removal of the headphone jack by now anyway.

Not to mention, with the progression of Bluetooth, other manufacturers will follow. Change isn't always welcomed, but over time, it's adaptation, not necessarily acceptance.

Thanks to the fact they are the sole supplier of A series chips for the iPhone 7 compared to years past when they only had a slice of the pie, you mean.
Misleading headlines are misleading, Macrumors.

Not misleading, you need to read the whole article.

Prior to the iPhone release they werent expected to break any records and their numbers would have been below the record if iPhones were sold as expected.

But BECAUSE the iPhone sold more than expected, they revised their estimates and now are beating their record.

but but but analysts said demand was going to be low?

It could also mean that apple shifted more chip production to tsmc vs Samsung. Tsmc didn't use to get as much production because they couldn't handle the load maybe they can now.

BeatsX has the W1 too and probably has better sound, playback controls, longer battery life, and it's cheaper.

Plus they're connected making them harder to lose.

Nah, I will give that one a miss. I just don't want wires at all. Not sure if that one can really be called wireless and it obviously does have a wire. Mos of the times when the ear-peace comes out it is because it gets pulled by a wire. If it happen to fall off, I would notice it, unless am totally deaf.

And if the headline said "breaks earnings estimates," you'd have a point.

And if the headline said "breaks earnings estimates," you'd have a point.

Why?

The reason they broke the records this Quarter was because of the high demand of the iPhone 7. If there wasn't higher then expected demand then they wouldn't have broken their records.
