TSMC is a Taiwanese based comoany, so all the profits that they make, even in their US factories, are sent back to HQ in Taiwan.

If Apple invested in Intel, they could encourage US chip production AND keep the profits in the US. Intel could license and manufacture ARM-based Apple Silicon chips in their US factories
