Update

Hey, well, I had some success just now. I grabbed the video file using the activity window in Safari as I used to do, but previously I had not taken sufficient notice of the fact that the file is now being saved as "videoplayback". Tube TV would not convert that, but when I added ".flv" to "videoplayback" (videoplayback.flv) Tube Tv was able to convert the file so I can add it to my iTunes library. A bit cumbersome, and I hope Tube Sock can be made to work again, but at least I have a workaround for now.

Tubesock

My tubesock no longer works either, I hope it gets updated.
In the mean time try tooble, it's free and it works, not as easy as tube sock but it does work.

I migrated to CosmoPod - maybe you should too!

Just some words of advice:

I'm a user of CosmoPod now - currently at version 4.3.1 - I gave up on TubeSock, then I gave up on TubeTV, and when I found CosmoPod, I found that it worked great, integrated with Safari perfectly, and is well supported (the developer even expands it's functionality!). It even converts between formats (if you don't like the smaller .flv files) and allows extraction of the sound track of videos and integrates them into your iTunes library, if you're into all that (and why not?). Works great with YouTube, but "any" videos on any web page can be saved to disk, in a variety of formats, with just a click on a "button" on your Safari Tool Bar. Allows FAST downloads and several downloads at the same time. Many more features, too - check it out.

Software that works and is reasonably priced is a justified cost! This application is VERY justified.

Check it out... CosmoPod

Tube sock error message

When trying to copy a video into tube sock, i keep getting a message "this video uses a format that is not supported". Is anyone else getting this? Do you know what this is about and how to get around it?

I even went to old youtube videos that I already have copied in my Itunes and tried to re-copy them and got the same error message.

Help!
