I need a bit of help... My Mac has started to boot a bit more slowly, and I suspect there may be something wrong with it. Any tips?

    Heres a good tip:
    Download Onyx
    http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/20070

It will run some maintenance on your machine and that is just about it.

Have you filled up your startup drive to almost full capacity?

Do you let your laptop sleep during the night or stay awake?

OSX does maintenance in the late hours of the night if you leave the computer on.

It kinda worked out. Thanks for the recommenation of the software.

Btw, my hard drive isn't even half-full, and I always shut down my MacBook overnight to protect the battery.

Just let it sleep. Nothing bad will come of it, and that way there is no boot time. BTW, i keep my MBP running for weeks at a time, and have yet to have problems with anything, especially the battery.

As long as you use the battery every once in a while, leaving it charged for long periods of time will not effect it.
