Turn a Long Webpage into a PDF with a Single iPhone Screenshot

Is this new? I swear I remember trying to do this before and it didn’t give me the option to save photos for full page. It was only PDF. I noticed it works on Safari and Brave, but didn’t give me a full page option on Orion.

Also I don’t see the full page option on other apps like Facebook and X. It’s on notes and that’s very helpful because if I want to send someone a list, it’s an easy way.

Just having it on Safari is nice because sometimes I want to take a screenshot of a recipe or article to save it for later. Even taking a screenshot of checking transactions to look at them later without having to login would be helpful.

If saving the full page as a pic you would follow the instructions in the article. I gave the instructions for saving a screenshot as a pic. "Screenshot" and "Full Page" are two totally different things and I offered instructions based on what you specified.

Actually they moved the power button from the top to the right side...just the other day. And the volume buttons have always been on the left side.

They replied “now if only you could do this in a photo” on a thread where this refers to saving a screenshot of a full page as a pdf.

Pretty safe to assume they want to save a screenshot of a whole page as an image, which requires an additional tap or two vs just screenshotting your screen.

Just screenshotting, selecting the screen or full page tab, then done brings up the options to save to photos or PDF without leaving the screenshot screen.

Tried it w MR but some of the images are blank. I guess you have to scroll down to load images before snapping. 📱

It gives you that option. Take your screen shot, leave it at Screen instead of Full Page, then when you tap Done on the upper left of the screen it will give you that option

Thank you, that’s brilliant!🤩 I’ve been using it since it debuted, but I didn’t realise you could save the full length as picture until today. We live to learn. I can now delete the Tailor app I’ve had for years.

This feature is incompatible with some websites due to intentional design choices that prevent its functionality.

One workaround is to use Tailor, which will stitch together screenshots if you leave a bit of overlap. Kind of a PITA, but works.

This is one of those weird little features that I was like, "but why, tho?" when it debuted, and then I ended up using it all the time. It's super handy.

And you see the android users complaining there is no long screen shot. I aways tell them - I use it all the time.

but pdf creates a mammoth file , is there any one to decrease file size and retain clarity? I tried one PDF compresses and I got JPEG artifacts like from 1996 gif image

Useful feature but talk about unintuitive! On that note, I feel the iOS interface has slowly become clunkier and harder to navigate, even things that used to be easy and enjoyable are now a total pain. The best example of this is rearranging icons in the home screen - it used to be easy and fun with the wiggle effect, but now it is almost impossible before other annoying menus pop up or you end up messing everything because one icon moved to the next page and changed the order of all your apps. It used to be simple, and more often than not simpler is actually better.

Unless you want to put markups on the pages (which I think is not meaningfully possible when you end up with a lot of pages), using the share > print option and then tapping on on the print preview to enter the pdf generation mode seems to me more natural (skipping the image phase), and also closer to the "save to pdf" print option people may be familiar with from the desktop.

That happens when you’ve multiple screenshots in screenshot view. It’s such a poor software design decision it may as well be considered a bug as it’s indistinguishable from one. Silly decision.

Both are confusing ways to generate a PDF. “Save as PDF” should be more obvious.

Very annoying. Also Shortcuts app should work much better across Apple platforms. Often Mac shortcuts don’t play well with iPhone and vice versa.

It’s so buggy and abysmally programmed. Even thinking about it annoys me. But did you not see that latest TV Show Tim was talking about, that’s what matters.
